Hawaii (Oahu): Diamond Head.

Surfers have already been at work for at least two hours when we hit the beach around 7:30 am. Our walk along the shore takes us through many eyecandies surfboard rental shops.

When the sand stops and the asphalt starts we keep walking, following the road signs to Diamond Head, the surfers' and windsurfers' paradise. Neither tourists on wheels nor runners on their way to the "Iron Man" decide to use the beach of Diamond Head. Local sunbathers have a habit that I've never seen anywhere else before. They built themselves little rock walls for privacy.

The small pieces of mountain that we find on this beach are also of a kind unknown to me. Different rock types (white, red and black) have been mixed together and the synthetic result has been eroded. The fact that each rock type was eroded at a different rate enabled the creation of quite an unusual ground which is almost totally covered by sand. The two pictures below show parts of an on-site negative space art work that I created in a split second. It is entitled "Double Negative: The Revenge."
