the description ............... by Pierre de Kerangal
There are three similar computer set-ups in the gallery. The gallery space is represented below by a rectangular floor.
Each set-up is presented/incorporated in a Geek Nef (a furniture/device that is a morph between a desk and a bed).
Each set-up includes:
- 1 computer 16/500 (model to be determined)
- 1 Ethernet card
- 1 monitor (best would be 800 x 600 but 640 x 480 will do)
- 1 keyboard
- 1 mouse
- 1 video projector (indicated by the red stars)
The Web presentations run on the local discs. The three set-ups are connected through a router to Gale Force Computing (our local provider) so mail from the viewers in the gallery will reach the artists (most of the projects presented include reply forms). Yet the local server does not allow the viewers to access the Web.
A Palace server is installed on a computer at Gale Force Computing. This Palace site is accessible from the Internet and from the gallery.
