Custom Corpse is the title given to this group exhibition of reworked corporate identities. The show's original incarnation took the dual form of this web site as well as an installation at the ACME Gallery in downtown San Francisco, July 27 - August 24, 1995. Featuring the work of artists, commercial artists, and some who dislike the distinction, Custom Corpse
represents a collective response to a social environment increasingly underwritten by the corporate agenda. Within the context of an art gallery, this exhibition raises questions regarding corporate sponsorship of the arts and its impact on the notion of "nuetral" space. Similarly, this on-line version carries the discussion into censorship issues facing cyberspace.
