Silver snake
by Andrei Rublev  Sunday, August 29th.

Thierry leaves early for Los Angeles. On our way to Laughlin, after Amboy, in the Mojave desert we pass through a column of grey clouds. It is rain, the kind that comes with strong wind. As we pass the center of the column I wonder for a few seconds if we are going to stay on 4 wheels, 6 actually.

The 163 West of Laughlin is a beautiful eight-striped silver snake that ondulates Mandelbrotly across and around the hills. It doesn't follow the details of the surface, rather the general directions given by the relief. It floats elegantly through the little valleys between the hills. It would be a perfect ride if it was 45 degrees cooler.
